One definition of the word Zerah is scarlet, thus the name of this painting. It is inspired by scarlet rays of sun spilling over the earth heralding the beginning of a new day.
This 12 x 9 in. original abstract was created with acrylic medium troweled onto a canvas panel with layers of paint in greenish brown tones and scarlet red. Coarse gold and silver metallic scumbled on top adds highlights and accentuates the texture. Signed by the artist (sjh) and framed in a 1/2" frosted umber metal frame.
