I enjoy photographing nature and sunsets as an inspiration for my paintings.  I use photography to sharpen my eye for details, color and texture.  As of today, I am beginning to offer some of my photographs for sale as giclees and prints.  I have set up a gallery starting with my Mushroom Series on my Fine Art America website.  More photo galleries will follow in the not too distant future.

Prints and giclees of my photographs and some of my original artwork can now be purchased directly through my Fine Art America website.  For availability and pricing, please take a moment to check out my gallery of photos at:  http://susan-j-harris.artistwebsites.com
Once you reach my home page, just click on the “Galleries” tab and it will take you to my various galleries.

Thanks and hope you enjoy!

As Picasso pointed out, knowing when to stop is just as important as knowing how to paint.

“When I am in my painting, I’m not aware of what I’m doing.  It is only after a sort of get-acquainted period that I see what I have been about.  I have no fears of making changes, destroying the image, etc., because the painting has a life of its own.  I try to let it come through.  It is only when I lose contact with the painting that the result is a mess.  Otherwise, there is pure harmony, and easy give and take, and the painting comes out well.”  Artist Jackson Pollock

“Chekhov advises, ‘If you want to work on your art, work on your life.’  That’s another way of saying that in order to have self-expression, we must first have a self to express.”  (“The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron)
